Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer wedding packages or are your prices a la carte?
Both package and a la carte pricing are available. Simply contact me and I will be happy to email you a complete pricelist with all the packages and services offered.
Colour or black and white, how is that decided?
As each photo is taken, it is more often than not with the consideration of whether the image will work best in colour or in B&W - it's just part of how the image is created in the first place. However, because everything is photographed in colour, with the B&W's being converted to B&W when the images are processed, each image is available as either colour or B&W. Some images work equally well in both B&W and colour. The initial photos are presented how they were first envisioned, though. If you have a preference for one over the other, simply let it be known prior to your wedding.
How many photos do you take?
Usually around 350-450 images. Smaller events are a bit less, and larger events a bit more.
When do you photograph the formal photos?
It is ultimately your choice when during your day these are done. Large group photos and family pictures are usually taken right after the ceremony, and smaller group photos, shots of you with your bridal party after that. Many couples enjoy capturing a few private moments prior to the ceremony, also. The main group photos are usually 20-30 minutes from start to finish, allowing plenty of time for more casual group shots right after. A more candid, editorial-style session for couple photos, without the distractions of everyone else, is then possible and rounds out the 'posed pictures' portion of the day.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes. Backup gear is a necessity when photographing once-in-a-lifetime events, so it is always brought along to ensure that nothing prevents the full documentation of your day.
What if we give you a list of photos we want taken?
That is not a problem, in fact I often encourage it. Having said that, I do not shoot the entire day to a list. That would be quite distracting for my style of photography. It can, however, be a great jumping off point and certainly gives me a clear idea of how you are wanting to have the day represented. It can also be a great basis for planning how the posed photos session should go.
How long is the image gallery of proofs available for viewing online?
Three months is standard, and usually provides enough time for clients and their guests to make print and album image choices. More time is available if needed, though.
What happens to the negatives and/or digital files?
Some coverage options include high-resolution files to make prints and enlargements from. If not included in your chosen coverage or package, the high-resolution files are always available as a seperate item.
Do you travel?
Yes. Please enquire with your specific needs, and the travel fee, if any, can be worked out.
How far in advance of our wedding do we need to book?
Generally 9 to 12 months in advance, especially for the more popular summer dates. However, do not hesitate to call about an event that is just around the corner as there may be last-minute availability.
How do we book our wedding with you?
Contact me and we can arrange a time to meet and go over what your photography desires are for your event. Also, a pricelist and contract can be emailed to you prior to us meeting.
If you don't see the answers to your questions, let me know and I will gladly answer them.
